Blind Date at the Dairy 10.5.11

Downpour. That is the only way to explain what happened at the dairy.  The skies opened up and water flooded out.  You can find all of our photos from the night by clicking on the photo above.

Cross Crusade: Aplenrose (2011)

Another year of great year for cyclocross.  Sadly enough there were a few injuries; one of them happened to be me.  I rolled my ankle on the hill side.  I tried walking it out but decided to take the safe route by leaving early and icing it.  Sorry, but we didn't get any races after the kids race.  I would also like to thank those who came to check on me when I was down on the ground.

Battle at Barlow (2011)

On Saturday as I was preparing for Barlow, I realized that I haven't shot Barlow since 2008.  I had big plans for the day, but didn't achieve any of them.  That being said, I still had fun and it was good seeing people that I haven't seen all year.

High Cascade 24 Hours of Bend (2011)

There is something about a 24 hour mountain bike race that makes you stop and ponder life.  Particularly the night time laps; when you seems to be miles away from anything and all alone.  It is one thing to be out racing and it is another being out there all alone waiting for racers and hearing every little noise. In central Oregon you can hear for miles.  Two racers having a converstatoin seem to be close by, only to ride by 10 minutes later.  Large noises are close by and you know that they aren't people.  How many mountain lions were just sitting and watching riders go by; pondering if they should try to catch one and eat like a king? 

In the morning, watching the sun come up, new life is upon us.  There is an excitement in the air but there is also a struggle to stay awake and alert.  After 24 hours, people have a sense of accouplishment and relief.  The race is done and no one runs up to the podium for their awards.

Tri at the Grove

 

 

A new event for us and for Oregon.  Rolf Prima presents Tri at the Grove.  Earlier this year we got a call wondering if we would be interested in shooting a triathlon.  It had been a few years since we photographed a triathlon so we were more than happy.  For photography and spectating the event locatoin was perfect.  The venue seemed to be perfectly suited for a triathlon.

High Cascade 100 (2011)

It was another great year for the High Cascade 100.  This year it was held a bit earlier and the course was different due to the winter storms but when all was said and done everyone had fun.  Thank you to mudslinger events for once again sponsoring us.  This means that the medium resolution images are free for you to download and use.  If you like this, please send Mike a thank you note so he knows that he is getting his money's worth.

The Cascade Cream Puff (2011)

Another year has come and gone for the Cascade Cream Puff.  Although turnout was lower this year than others, the racing was just as good.  The sun was out, the flowers were in bloom and the course was just about perfect.  A few minor changes had to be made because of snow, but it wouldn't be good mountain biking with out some challenges.  Thank you to Scott and the Cream Puff for sponsoring us once again.  Medium resolution images are free for you to use for personal use.
