High Cascade 100

Things not to do at the end of a 100 mile mountain bike race... wheelie.  It is not often that Mike Ripley of Mudslinger Events can say that he had a totally dry race course.  The tempatures ranged from 34 degrees to 75 degree but it was all dry, even a little dusty... okay a lot dusty at points.  Just under a hundred people showed up for the 1st annual High Cascade 100 and by all the smiles at the end of the day I won't be surprised if the field limit is reached next year.

Mudslinger Events once again sponsored us, so you are welcome to use the medium resolution digitial images for your personal (non-commercial) use.  You can find all of our photos here or click on the jump to see a slideshow of highlights.

Cascade Cream Puff

The Cascade Cream Puff is one of the toughest 100 mile mountain bike races in the nation.  Until recently when the registration limit was increased it use to sell out in a matter of days.  It is still a guaranteed sell out but more people are able to celebrate it every year.  For most, it isn't about winning, it is about finishing.

On Thursday we got a call at 10 pm wondering if we would be able to shoot the Cream Puff on Sunday.  This has been an event that I have been wanting to shoot since I have been taking photos.  Being sponsored to shoot the even made it possible to do it this year.  Thanks to the Cascade Cream Puff all medium resolution photos are free for non-commercial use.

Waking up at 4 am is hard enough, but needing to be mentally cable of taking photos in less than idea light and conditions is a challenge.  Lasting another 13 hours to cover the whole event was insane.  Matt and I didn't even want to think about taking another photo or even looking at what we shot when the day was done. When we finally had the mental capability to look at the photos we were quite surprised that so many decent shots came out.  Click on the jump to see highlights. Portland Mountain Bike Short Track (06.22.09)

Test of Endurance: 50 Mile Mountain Bike Race

Our photos have been posted from another great year of the Test of Endurance hosted by Mudslinger Events. Thanks to Mike Ripley and the gang for sponsoring us. All medium resolution images are free for people to use for personal use.

Although Mike moved the race back a couple of weeks in hopes to have a dry course, Mother Nature had other plans. The weather was typical for Oregon... if you don’t like it, wait 10 minutes and it will be something else. The rain may have made the trails slick, Mike and crew had cut new trails to make the course more interesting. To see a slideshow of highlights click on the jump.

Sublime Sublimity Road Race

Another great day for a road race.  The Sublime Sublimity had a great turnout for a new race, but after the torture that people were exposed to; next year may only bring out the masocist.  We couldn't have been happier with the weather.  This time of year does the most damage to our equipment.  It is amazing how water and electronic don't play well together.

All of our photos have been posted here or you can see a slideshow of highlights by clicking on the jump.

Cross Crusade @ Washington County Fairgrounds

As a pair of photographers that usually go though one camera body a year due to rain, mud, and grim of cross season; the Washington County Fairgrounds was the perfect cross race. Lots of mud, grim and agony without the wet stuff from the sky; it was everything cross but warmer and drier.

Thank you to Cyclepath for sponsoring us.  Because of their generousity, all of our medium resolution digitial images are free to use for personal and team purposes.  You can find all of our photos here; to see a slideshow of highlights

Cross Crusade @ PIR or SSCXWC

Though the bubbles

You can always expect craziness at Cross Crusade races, but if it is the Singe Speed Cyclocross World Championship you can expect the craziness to be taken to the next level.  Thank to Yakima the craziness was enhanced with a bubble machine and a windmill.  Not like racing cross is hard enough in the mud, lets pretend we are on a mini-golf course while we are at it.

Thanks to Cyclepath's generous support all of our medium resolution digitial images are free for personal use.  Find a photo you want and on the bottom right hand corner of the photo there is a link that say Download Original.  Have fun and drop Cyclepath a note saying thanks.
