Tri at the Grove

A new event for us and for Oregon.  Rolf Prima presents Tri at the Grove.  Earlier this year we got a call wondering if we would be interested in shooting a triathlon.  It had been a few years since we photographed a triathlon so we were more than happy.  For photography and spectating the event locatoin was perfect.  The venue seemed to be perfectly suited for a triathlon.

We would like to thank Steve Cash and Rolf Prima for their generous support.  All medium resolution digital images are free for participates to download and use for personal use.  If you use the photos and like them, please drop Rolf Prima letting them know that it was money well spent.

Cascade Cream Puff 2010

Are those tears of happiness or tears of pain? Oh wait, there are no excess fluids for tears.

This was our second year covering the Cascade Cream Puff and once again it was a very long day.  Up at 4 am and bed at 1 am.  Last year was wet and cold, this year was dry and hot.  This year records were broken for course time and the percentage of finishers.

There were racers from all over North America and the world.  Rumor has it that one racer came from Australia.  There were teams that came from Jackson Hole, Vancouver B.C., Boise and many other locations.  We chatted with some of these teams and found out that they traveled around the Northwest to endurance events.  Many of them felt that the Cream Puff is the best there is.  They credited Scott and his team of volunteers for making such a great event.  We also chatted with many of Oregon's homegrown riders and they felt that Oakridge offers some of the best trails in the state.

Thank you to everyone for the fun.  Also thank you to Scott for sponsoring us at the event.  Due to his sponsorship, our medium resolution digital images are free to use.  For those of you that are first time visitors, that means find your photos here and click on the 'download original' link at the bottom right hand corner of the photo.  You can use the photo for non-commercial use.  Use it on your blog, facebook, team webstie, etc...  If you are a regular here, you will notice that the digital image grew from 900 px on the long edge to 1080 px.

Hopefully we will see you all next year, if not sooner.

Portland Mountain Bike Short Track Series 06.28.10

Another great day of racing at PIR. A few nasty spills on the road and in the dirt, but that is racing.

Mudslinger Super D

Question: What is a Super D race?

Answer: A super D race is best described as a downhill cross country race. They normally lack the technical danger packed elements of the downhill and in most cases, have some significant pedaling.

The Mudslinger Super D fits the traditional Super D courses to a T.  It is fun that anyone can enjoy and 17 riders did.  17 riders doesn't seem much, but this is the first year that Mike has put on the race and the only course in Oregon that allows Cat 3 riders to race.  This course had all the down hill of the Mudslinger XC with little of the climbing.  Super Ds are the guilty pleasures of XC racers.

Thank you to Mike Ripley and Mudslinger Events for sponsoring us.  All of our medium resolution digital images are free for personal use.  Enjoy and share with friends.

Bear Springs XC MTB Race

It has been a while since I have been to the Bear Springs MTB race.  I thought we had photographed the race, but it looks like the last time I was at the race I was actually racing it.  It was a beautiful day for a race and the turn out was fairly large.  No snow complaints like last year, but the weather on Saturday gave a few people pause.  Our photos have been posted, so enjoy.

Day 2 of the USGP of Cyclocross - The Stanley Cup

Who would have thought that it could get any colder than the first day of the USGP.  Well, with no fog any heat that was around had left.

We were again sponsored by Cyclepath for both days of the USGP of Cyclocross.  We would like to thank them for their support.  If you enjoyed the photos, please let them know.

If you don't find any photos on our site or want to support the official photographer of the USGP check out Ben Ross Photography work.  He was out there both days for all the races working to get high quality images of each racer.  At the very least, drop him a note saying thanks for his hard work.

Cross Crusade @ Barton Park

A big thanks to Cyclepath for supporting us another week.  Cyclepath generosity allows us to give everyone medium resolution digital images for personal use.  If you enjoy the photos, please drop a big thanks to the guys at Cyclepath.

Well we are a little late at getting these up.  That happens when everyone is down sick with the stomach flu.    I guess instead of a Tuesday morning distraction, it will be a Wednesday morning distraction.

OBRA Cyclocross Championships

Blue skies and dry is how the morning started.  By the end of the day it was cold, wet and dark.  Some would say the weather was typical cyclocross weather, or just another day in Oregon.

We would like to thank Bike N Hikefor their support.  Medium resolution images are free for people to use for personal use due to their support.  If you use the images please send them a note thanking them for their generosity.
